Manipur is all set to go to the Assembly polls in two phases on March 4 and March 8 while the counting would take place on March 11 simultaneously with UP, Punjab Goa and Uttarakhand.
Announcing the poll schedule in New Delhi on Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner said the north eastern state will hold the first phase of polls for 60 seats from 7 in the morning to conclude at 4 in the afternoon on March 4. The second phase will take place on March 8 with same time table.
The first phase will cover 38 seats while the polling for the second phase will take place in 22 seats. Governor will issue the poll notification on February 8 where the candidates for this phase will have to file nominations by February 15 to be scrutinized the next day.
For the second phase polls, the notification would be issued on February 11 and the last date for filing nominations would be February 18. The nominations would be scrutinized the next day and on February the candidates would be able to withdraw from the polls on February 22.
