Skills Conclave Concludes at Guwahati
Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has organised skill conclave was organised at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati on 23rd and 24th July. This conclave provided a platform to all the stakeholders in the skill eco system to interact and exchange ideas for creating a more sustainable and effective environment which can harness the full potential of the youth. The conclave witnessed the convergence of various mission / directorates imparting skill development schemes. The two days conclave also witnessed a series of events which included the skill exhibition, job fair, skill symposium and distribution of awards which was attended by Sarbanada Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam on 23rd July.
A new office of the ASDM was inaugurated on 24th July by Chandra Mohan Patowary , Minister of Skill Entrepreneur and Employment, Government of Assam . Addressing the media person after inaugurating the office he has appealed the youths of Assam to come forward and take up skill training. He had briefly mentioned about the activities of ASDM. He had mentioned about initiatives like starting of few advance skill training programme, North East Skill Centre, Swabalambam, SVAYEM, etc. The minister had mentioned about various MoUs which has been signed for imparting skill training to ex-militants and jail inmates. “Karagar to Karikar” is going to be a new programme to impart skill training for the jail inmates. ASDM also celebrated Skills Week related to World Youth Skills Day in different parts of the state and its weeklong celebration was concluded on 24th July.

The programme begun with lighting lamp by Dr S K Jain, Principal of JNV .Ranjan K Baruah., youth activist from Guwahati delivered the talk.
