Meritorious students feted by Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad
NAMRUP :- In an effort to inspire the students the meritorious students who excelled in HSLC and HS examinations were feted at a programme held in BVFCL Officers Club organised by Namrup Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad regional committee on Sunday. The event presided over by Diganta Gogoi initiated with a religious prayer in a bid to gain prosperity and blessing from the almighty to all the meritorious student for their bright future . The programme was graced as chief guest by BVFCL Chief Administrative officer, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee. Speaking on the ocassion, general secretary of Tai Ahom Kristi Kendra Tileswar Borah laid emphasis on exemplifying ancient universities like Nalanda University which was established on 427 B.C. "Our ancient education system was on top notch than modern education system and for that reason the foreign nations have adopted the Indian Culture, and even prayers are made compulsory in their academics." ,he added. Namrup: The Maibella Army Camp under DAO Division organized a free medical check up and assistance camp as part of the Army’s “Winning of Heart and Mind Campaign Drive” in Rohdoi Ali village of Charaideo district recently. The camp was attended by some 400 people from 10 neighbouring villages. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients.
Namrup: A pioneer of the Assam Movement and founder of Assam Yuba Chatra Parishad Namrup Regional Committee, Nagen Bora breathed his last at his own residence here in Namrup on Sunday due to old age ailments. He was 82 and left behind his wife, two son and three daughters. Actively associated with a number of socio-political organizations of Namrup, Bora was sent to prison on a number of occasions during the Assam agitation. His death was widely mourned.

Namrup: BVFCL Model HS School has stolen the march in the HS examination with cent per cent success drawing huge applause from all fronts on Thursday.Altogether 39 students in the first one batch of the school appeared in the science and arts streams conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council where the pass percentage is 100%.Next to this new school is the BVFCL HS School where 81.25% students cleared the arts stream while in science the pass percentage is 93.45%.
