New Delhi: AICC leadership in New Delhi discussed a slew strategies to fight the upcoming Assam Assembly polls with a few state leaders. Presided over by state in charge Jitendra Singh, the meeting further discussed in detail the possibility of electoral benefit out of the alliance with AIUDF, CPI, CPM and CPIM.
The state leadership further apprised the high command of the grievances of a section of sitting MLAs who are dead opposed to the alliance with AIUDF. State president Ripun Bora, leader of Opposition Debabarata Saikia, MPs Gaurav Gogoi, Pradyut Bordoloi, and MLA Rockybul Hussian attended a series of meetings at the Congress headquarters.
Talking to reporters waiting outside the Congress Headquarters, Debobrata Saikia said that the meeting discussed in detail the poll strategies. But sources said the meeting was convened mainly to mend the differences among the state party leaders.
