GK Pillai cancels visit

Former Union home secretary Gopal Krishna Pillai has cancelled his stock-taking visit to BTAD on Tuesday.

According to home ministry, Pillai has cancelled his visit because of inconvenience in helicopter services on Tuesday.

But reliable sources told Assam Times that Pillai has cancelled his visit in the face of simmering protest in BTAD by a section of Bodo and non Bodo organizations.

Pillai, however, has not fixed the date of his next attempt.

On the other hand, the development has disappointed the Bodo National Convention leaders who were all set to hold a huge rally to woo Pillai who is studying the separate Bodoland demands.
