Nalbari Balst: 2 injured

Three peope have been injured while a powerful blast rocked a vegetable market in Nalbari. The explosion took place at 6in the evening. The injure peopes have been rushed to the hospital. They are Nalini Kalita, Rabindra Sarma and Biswajit Debnath. On the other hand, two hardcore ULFA cadres died at an encounter with army at the Dibru Saikhowa sanctuary. The encounter reportedly going on and the army jawans are cordoning off the entire area.

its really a human rights violation, so the government have to compensate those who are injured in the blast and to those family members of the victimis of these blast.

Its human rights violation by the terrorists. Why can't the terrorists compensate the family members of the victims. Does the government have to compensate you if robbers break into your house? It is high time to get rid of these terrorists and make life safe for the common man.

Its human rights abuses by the Rebels. these kinds of abuses are against Geneva conventions or humanatarian law. State should also break unlawfull killings and so-called encounters. Dialouge with the rebels is the only way of longlasting peace.

Congressman Phani Sarma passes away

Noted sports organizer and senior Congress leader Phani Sarma breathed his last at his own residence at Bamunimaidam here at 7.15 a.m. today. He was 76.He was the treasurer of ruling Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) and also involved with many other socio-cultural organizations of the State. North Indians with ULFA link

Sibasagar police has arrested four individual for alleged links with ULFA. Among them three individuals are from Sibasagar and one from Moran. The individuals have been arrested for assisting in collection and supplying huge amount of money to ULFA. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mr Pradeep from Nivedon Stores, Mr Radheshyam from Apsara Store and another all hailing from Sibasagar and Mr Bikash Agarwal from Moran. Ironically while on the one hand ULFA is threatening North Indians to leave Assam at the same time we find them also assisting the ULFA.

The first Mobile Banking facility in Assam was inaugurated in Diphu on 21st July,2007. Guwahati: In yet another ‘handiwork,’ ULFA explodes a powerful bomb in the busy Machkhowa areas on Saturday morning at around 7-30 which left four people dead and more than twenty injured.The blast that rocks again in the time of the grand Ambubachi mela atop Kamakhya and Asian Athletic Grand Prix at Sarusajai, took place in front of a mosque.
