Gangrape rattles Guwahati again

Yet another alleged incident of gangrape struck Guwahati. The main accused is in police custody. The incident took place at Maligaon where three youths allegedly gangraped and assaulted a 20 year old girl under the flyover at 11 at night. Local residents rescued the girl and caught the main accused who was handed over to the police. But the two others managed to flee from the spot. Later the girl was rushed to the Guwahati Medical College. Apart from interrogating the accused, police are waiting for the medical report to confirm it a case of gangrape.

Bokakhat: A 60 year old daily wage earner died when he was hit by a car attached to a convoy of Ramnath Kovind as the President was on his way to Kaziranga National Park on Saturday. The incident took place in the morning as the man was trying to cross the National Highway defying the movement of the presidential cavalcade loaded with heavyweights.
