NDFB militant killed

Security forces claimed to have killed a hardcore NDFB militant belonging to the Songbijit faction at an encounter in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.
 

The encounter took place in the evening at Ultapani jungle under Bismuri police outpost. The militant cadres was identified as Bilifang Basumatary of Mohenpur village. He is believed to be the section commander in Bismuri. He was involved with several extortion and anti-government activities in the region. A 7.65 mm pistol, two grenade, 6 live ammunition, three empty cases, two mobile handsets were recovered from him.
