Fake ULFA held at Nazira

Nazira police arrested 3 persons namely Manasjyoti Gogoi, Niranjan Gogoi of Nazira and Depan Gogoi of Simaluguri for demanding money on last August 22 and recovered several mobile phones from them. According to the police, the three persons were involved in demanding money in the name of ULFA from various persons of Guwahati, Duliajan, Tinsukia, Digboy, Amguri etc. A police team lead by the SDPO Nazira Ashif Ahmed and OC Nazira Sanjiv Gogoi arrested them. A case is registered in Nazira police station under IPC 387.

Municipal candidates share plans with public

The Nazira Press Club in association with the Freelance Journalists' Association of Nazira organized a programme on Wednesday in an effort to interact with all the municipal candidates who are contesting in the forthcoming civil elections. Lawka minor found murdered

Villagers recovered a dead body of a 16 year old girl Tuesday morning from the Nahorhabi Tea Estate in Lakwa. The girl identified as Rashmi Munda went missing since January 25 under suspicious circumstances. Villagers claim the girl was raped before murder. AAMSU hits streets in Nazira

Over 100 AAMSU workers hit the streets in Nazira in protest against NDFB’s serial attacks in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Sonitpur where 68 people were killed on Tuesay.The workers of the All Assam Minorities Student  Union thronged the Nazira town and burnt the effigy of the NDFB-S shouting slogans against the massacre of the innocent people.
