A four days summer adventure camp which was organized by Vision and Innovation Society,Tangla in association with Mighty Fine Gunners of Red Horns Division concluded at Tangla on July 18. The concluding session was held at Tangla Girls Higher Secondary School. Col. DK Bose Commanding Officer of Mighty Fine Gunners attended the concluding session as chief guest. On the occasion Commanding Officer thanked organizers for arranging the summer adventure camp for school going children at Tangla. He said that his regiment would be happy to do whatever possible for the all round development of the children of the district. DN Hazarika, Circle Officer, Harisinga Revenue Circle, Tangla, also spoke a few words on the occasion.
Participating boys and girls performed cultural items to much delight of the people present. It needs mention that 32 boys and 4 girls of various schools and colleges in and around Tangla participated in the adventure camp which included trekking,rock climbing, repelling, river rafting,river crossing, monkey crawling, jumaring etc. The adventure training was conducted at Bhairabkunda, Bogamati and Samrang under the guidance of advance trainer Ajit Singha. Nilima Deka a lady triner of Tangla supervised the training programme on all the four days. Speaking to this correspondent lady trainer Deka said that she was ready to guide students and youths of Udalguri district for undergoing training in adventure sports which could make all fit to face any natural calamities.Senior journalist s -Keshab Chandra Dutta,Jayanta Kumar Das,Diganta Kumar Sarma,social worker Tarini Chaliha, Mantu Majumdar etc attended the closing ceremony. Sankar Jyoti Dutta anchored the proceedings of the evening.
