Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. BPF legislators have asked the Congress leadership to ensure the victory of Biswajeet Daimary in the Rajya Sabha polls otherwise the candidate would pull out of the poll process.Immediately after collecting the papers for withdrawal of the nomination by Daimary on Thursday, BPF MLAs tried to reach the Congress leadership to discuss the issue.The Congress leadership is believed to have told BPF not to take any hasty decision in this regard.
