CRPF's Civic Action Programme at Kaimai

“Kaimai is a village with a difference”, said Balav Chand Sharma, Commandant, 36 CRPF, Khonsa, the district headquarters town of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh. He was speaking on the occasion of Civic Action Programme organized by his company at Kaimai village on 23rd June, 2013. He was all praised for the villagers for the cooperation they have given to the CRPF company HQ established in the village. He told the people that the CRPF HQ has been established in the village with the sole aim of giving security to the village after thoroughly studying the law and order situation of the district. He also advised his jawans to be sensitive to the feelings of the people and be always on the guard for their security and protection.

As a part of the programme he distributed Computer, Water Tanks (Syntex), Dustbins, Solar Lamps, mosquito nets, and so many games and sports materials like football and volleyball etc. besides many other items.

While speaking on the occasion the Chief of the village, Shri Khamwang Lowang expressed the gratitude of the village for providing the all important security to the village. He said that Kaimai village was a hot bed of factional fights but ever since the Company HQ was established peace has returned to the village.

Earlier the Kaimai ASM Shri Ganwang Aran welcomed the Commandant and his family and said that it is for the CRPF that the people of Kaimai are able to have sound sleep every night. At the end the GB Shri Tawang Wangsa thanked the Commandant for organizing the Civic Action Programme and hoped that they would continue to do so in future too.

Two NSCN (K) cadres surrendered before Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police at an army base in upper Assam today. The two cadres are self styled Lance Corporal Thothung Hakhun and self styled Sergeant Major Dapnong Tonglim. They also deposited two 7.65 mm pistols along with 20 rounds of live ammunition. Senior Assam Rifles, Arunachal Pradesh Police, civil administration  officials were present during the surrender. "The surrender of both the cadres is yet another achievement for the security forces in motivating youths who have gone out of their way to pick up arms in the name of so-called revolution", a senior Assam Rifles official said.
