Sit-in-dharna at Thekeraguri
More than 500 inhabitants of more than six villages on Saturday at about 10.30 a.m. staged a strong protest- in-dharna at Thekeraguri near Thekeraguri Railway crossing demanding NF railway authority to keep opening the railway crossing line for the smooth communication for commuters and pedestrians of their villages. According to the villagers, the rail authority recently announced that the railway crossing would be closed permanently for commuters and pedestrians following which the villagers staged a strong protest citing slogans against the authority.

Former Assam AGP chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and his son Subham were injured in a road accident at Bebejia in Nagaon district on Tuesday evening.
