In completion of 25 years of glorious existence of Greater Maibang Namghar ‘Silver Jubilee celebration’ was organised by the Silver Jubilee Celebration committee with two day long programme on November 28th and 29th in the Namghar premises amidst religious environment at Maibang with great enthusiasm.
On November 28th, the days programme was started with ‘usha kirtan’ followed by hoisting of ‘dharma dhwaja’ by Nimai Saikia, President, Namghar Parichalana Samity.
A spectacular procession ‘bhagabat aru Sanskritik Shovayatra’ was inaugurated by M. Gogoi, SDPO, Maibang and was taken out from Namghar premises marched through the major parts of Maibang town again converged at the Namghar. People from different communities living in Maibang took part in the procession.
This was followed by Bhagawat pat and nam kirtan. Thereafter, Prasad was distributed to all the people present in the celebration.
On November 29th, the dya’s programme was started with the tree plantation by Dr Tilak Deka, Working President followed by cleanliness drive by the volunteers. Under the priest ship of Shantanu Bora, Bhagabat path and nam prasanga was done. Sri Laksmi Bora inaugurated the souvenir and was followed by ‘Dharma Alochoni Sabha which was inaugurated by Manas Nath, SDO, Civil, Maibang and was presided over by Krishna Rau Medhi, founder of Maibang Namghar. Jagat Bania, Kendriya Namdharma Pracharak and Durlabh Gogoi, Retd Teacher were the appointed speakers of the ‘Dharma Alochoni Sabha’.
In the evening a cultural programme was also organised wherein local and from out side the district performed several items based on Jagatguru Sri Sri Shakardev and his sayings.
