Dima Hasao Gaon Buras welcome MoS

The Gaon Buras of several villages of Harangajao expressed their great satisfaction over the signing of MoS by the DHD leaders, Government of India and the Government of Assam and hoped that through the proper implementation of this accord, all the people of Dima Hasao will be benefited a lot and thus peace will be re-established in the district as earlier. The erstwhile N C Hills, present Dima Hasao was the true example of peace and harmony but during last few years the people of Dima Hasao had to experience misunderstandings among the people perhaps due to some unfounded fear.

This was expressed by the Gaon Buras during a meeting held at Harangajao High School field on Thursday to welcome the leaders of DHD who have recently signed the historical peace accord with the government of India and Assam, the people of Dima Hasao accorded warm greetings at various places of Dima Hasao on the way to Harangajao.

The meeting was attended by Dilip Nunisa, Chairman, DHD, Yathong Dimasa, General Secretary, Pronob Nunisa, C-in-C etc. along with Sri A C Haflongbar, Former, CEM, DHAC, L. Nampui, MAC, DHAC, Gaon Buras of several villages of Harangajao.

At the out set all the leaders of DHD and the Gaon Buras and senior citizens were felicitated with traditional ‘risa’.

Groups from various communities performed their traditional dances to welcome the MoS as well as the DHD leaders.

Talking to this correspondent, Sri Hauva Hmar, GB of Hungveng while expressing his satisfaction over the DHD’s endeavour for the all round development of the District. He at the age of 76 said he has witnessed many happenings in this small district during recent past but this signing (as he understand) of this historic MoS has become a ray of hope for the people of this district.

Akhub Hrangkhol, GB of Rekho is also of the opinion that proper and timely implementation of this MoS is more important and of course, all the people of the district should remain united so that all the people of the district could get the benefit of this historic MoS.
