he AKRSU-sponsored hunger strike for a separate Kamatapur has crossed seventy five hours but nobody from the Tarun Gogoi cabinet has come to them. Going by the Sunday news, some doctors were rushed to the protesters. They alleged that on Monday the government tried to end the strike through negotiation with the Kamrup metro administration and NCP leaders.
However, AGP and AUDF presidents along with some other parties and organiosations have rushed to the protest site and expressed thier soliderity.
The doctors attended the protesters again on Monday morning.
But till now no representative from the ruling party is there to take stock of the situation. On the other hand, lower Assam commissioner VSL Vasaba, Kamrup metro deputy commissioner Pratik Hajela and headquerter sub divisional officer Chandra Kamal Bhuyan came to the site.
On the other hand, several political leaderts rushed to the protesters from Monday morning to visit the striking Koch Rajvbanshi student leaders. They include former AGP ministers Rekha Rani Das Boro, Biraj Kumar Sarma. During Moreover, Tankeswar Rabha from the All Assam Rabha Students Union, MASS adviser, AJYCP adviser Dilip Patgiri also visited the protesters. The AARSU president said that the Rabhas will not object to the ST status fore the Korch Rajbanshis in the Rabha Hasong council areas.
Asom Gana Parishad president Brindaban Goswami along with Sabda Rabha, Queen Ujha, Apurba Bhattacharjee rushed to the striking AKARSU leaders.
AUDF president Badariddin Ajmal, his associate Basir Ahmed Kasimi and former minister Aminul Islam also visited the protesters and supported the cause.
They alleged gross injustice for the minorities by the Congress. AKARSU president Biswajit Rai has alleged that the government is shying away from steps to solve the problem and and instead has a conspiracy to end the strike through negotiation with NCP and districgt administration.

The Koch Rajvanshis have the legal right to demand a separate state according 2 the bond of '49, between Ind govt. & the King of Kamatapur. "Kamatapur will be constructed as a "C" catagorised state"- it was in the conditions of the bond. State administration is not showing any honour 2 the honourable High court also. Thats why AKRSU have taken the highest attempt for their legal and appropriate demand.

A former Meghalaya MLA died tragic a road accident at Chaygaon near Guwahati on Friday morning. According to information, the former Meghalaya legislator P D Sangma was injured at the mishap while he travelling from Shillong to Tura. The incident took place at around 11 AM. His vehicle collided with a stationary truck near Chaygaon. Sangma died on the spot, the driver, Sangma's wife and owner of the vehicle were also seriously injured. His body was rushed to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital with his injured wife and driver .

Union minister for DONER, panchayat, sports and youth welfare Mani Shankar Aiyar has lamented the lack of audience in the North East Games at Sarusajai on Friday while he was visiting the sports complex. During his visit, Mr Aiyer hoped that the north eastern region will produce more and more sports stars. During his visit, the Union minister enjoyed events of the North Easat Games and termed the North East as the birth place of sports stars. He observed that the fund from the Centre to uplift the front has not reached the sports talents. A set of policy should be there to bring the rural boys and girls to the field of sports, he said.
A devastating fire broke out the Bengali Girls’High School in city’s Pltanbazar area on Thursday in the afternoon. According to information, the authorities have yet to ascertain the cause behind the fire but has initially estimated that it has ravaged property worth one crore. An accidental firing rattled Itanagar early in the morning on Tursday. That too before the prime Minister’s maiden visit to the land of rising sun. According to information, a policeman on duty to guard a road through which Prime Minister motorcade was to pass, accidentally fired a bullet injuring a labourer. The injured labourer was being taken to the Guwahati hospital by the Chief Minister's helicopter.The the bullet went off accidentally from the service revolver of an Indian Reserve Battalion constable while he was posted near the Indira Gandhi Park, the venue where the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting.
