CBI questioning on at NEEPCO Umrangso
CBI as early as 7:30 am on Monday started a series of raids and investigations at the residences and office premises of top NEEPCO Officials, the Kopili Power Station located some 25 kms from the Umrangso township and at the Umrangso office of Messrs P. E. S. Enginners - a Hyderabad based private contract company incharge of the maintenance of the Koplili Power Station.
The CBI entourage is yet questioning Bharat Chandra Deka, Senior Manager, Koplili Power Station, Hare Krishna Changmai, Deputy General Manager, NEEPCO - Umrangso, subordinate officials and company officials posted at the Power Station. A number of official documents have also been examined and seized from the company concerned. The North Eastern Electrical Power Corporation is the implementating agency of the 200 MW Kopili Hydel Power Project at Umrangso.

The anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (IK-Songbijit) allegedly opened fire killing 34 and injuring several since Friday. Inspector General of Police for the Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD) L. R.
