Houses damaged by hail-storm

At least 150 houses of several villages like Kalanala , Disabra , Choto Larpheng and Panimur under Umrangso police station were totally damaged and injured 7 person including 3 women by the hail-storm on Saturday.

In Disabra village out of 56 houses all were affected, in Chotolarpheng village out of 46 houses all were affected, in Kalanala 24 and in Panimur 3 houses were damaged.

Altogether 153 families are now under the trees with their family member, till the filing of this report no official from the district administration visited the victims.

It would not out of place to mention here that during last fortnight 15 houses were burnt due to Jhum fire at Koladisa, but till date the government relief was not provided to the victims except Dima Halam Daogah and Jadikhe Nasho Hosom. Both JNH and DHD visited Koladisa and provided relief and possible assistance to the villagers.

People argued, what are the responsibility and the function of much publicised existence of district disaster management committee, if it cannot come forward during such natural calamities?
