The Ministry of Power has launched a National Awareness Campaign in order to promote energy conservation in the country.
A painting competition for students at the school, State and National level has been included as part of the campaign which would make aware the children about the need of conserving energy.
Along with other States and Union Territories, Government of India with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, (BEE) and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has organized an on-the-spot painting competition for students.
The prize distribution to the winners of the State-level painting competition will be held on November 14 at Shrimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati. Asom Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and State Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi will grace the occasion.
Fifty students have been selected for the competition. The themes for the painting competition will be Global warming is Harming or Today’s Electricity wastage is tomorrow’s power shortage.
