“Bhugali Mela” at Ranghar Pavilion by Tai-Ahom Yuba Parishad
The Sivasagar district committee of The Tai-Ahom Yaba Parishad” is organising “ Bhugali Mela” at historical “Ranghar” , the first pavilion of Asia on January 16. In this exhibition the traditional “Buffloo fight” and the traditional ethnic dances will be exhibited. An souvenir will also be released on that occasion.
The speaker of Asaam Assembly, Pranab Gogoi will inaugurate the function. The governor of Bihar Mr.Debananda Konwer and the Chairman of Tai-Ahom development council Dr. Jugen Phukon will present as a guest of honour and Chief guest.

The Doner ministry of govt of India has sanctioned 11.45 crore for excavation and beautification of historic Jamuna lake of Sivasagar town. This is disclosed by Pranab Gogoi, speaker of Assam Assembly and local MLA at Sivasagar. The lake was excavated during the Ahom rule along with the historical Sivasagar tank scientifically,for going out excess water to Jamuna and help in protection. One Rehim Ali of Meckeypur killed by a speedy truck (AS-04-AC-2726) on Tuesday at around 6 pm near Nazira Charial. The truck was on its way from Nazira to Joysagar through Bor-Ali. After the accident the situation became tense and the agitated mob torched the vehicle at Na-Mati. Officials of Nazira Sub-Division reached the spot and controlled the situation.
One Luku Barua (11) son of Bubul and Akhomi Barua of Hudupara-Bharali Pukhuri village died on the spot at about 12 pm on November 24 when a road roller run over him. The boy was employed as a contract labour at a project work under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The Sectional Assistant of the PWD department, the roller driver and the field Assistant of the contractor have fled from the spot. Police have so far not registered any FIR against in this regard.
