The 27th Mid-Term Conference of Sivasagar District Academic Council on January 18-19
The 27th mid-term conference of Sivasagar district academic council will be held on 18-19 January, 2012, at Ghilaguri High School, Khaloighugura. On first day the flag will be hoisted by Prabin Sarma, Inspector of school and remembrance will be attended by Atul Phukon, executive president of the celebration committee. On that day a discussion, “ The rule of present education system in quality education” will be inaugurated by retired Principal of Ting-Khang College, Mr. Jiweswar Mohon.
On the second day the open meeting will be innugurated by mr. Lakhminath Gogoi, Sub-Divisional Officer, Charaidew and will be attended by retired Professor of Dibrugarh University, Mr. Girin Phukon, Retired Principal of Bhagawati Prasad Barua Higher Secondary School, Sonari, Mr. Bishnu Dutta, the Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and the speaker of Assam Assembly Mr. Pranab Gogoi. The D.C. of Sivasagar, Mr. Jatindra Nath Lohkor will be attended as a Invited guest. A souvenir will also be released in that meeting.

The 63rd republic day is celebrated at Nazira by the administration and the Assam Asset, ONGC. Emon Chetia Phukon of Sepon,a student of Class VI at Delhi Public school, Guwahati, wins third position in the national level fine-arts competition held at Delhi on January 21. The competition was organised jointly by Ministry of Water and Ministry of Soil Conservation. Students from 19 states participated in this competition. The theme was “Rule of students in water conservation”.
The participants from Tamil Nadu and West Bengal achieved the first and second position respectively.
