Shillong: Its a swashbuckling show that sets record in the Scotland of the East.
The hilly town atop the abode of cloud is enthralled by an unique show of 1730 guitarists playing together to mark the beginning of the much vaunted Autumn Festival which draws thousands of people across the north eastern states.
As soon as the clock strikes at 6 in the cold evening, the hilly town. And that too with a record-breaking event when these guitarists who vie for a page in the Guinness Book of World Records for the ever biggest guitar ensemble.
Guitarists from across the country are performing Bob Dylan's classic "Knocking on Heavens Door" at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here to mark the beginning of the grand 10 day festival.
Titled "Rhythms of Meghalaya", the session will be looking to crack the world record by 1,721 guitarists from the United States, performing "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple's classic on June 4.
The grand guitar event is witnessing celebrity guitarists, kicked off the 10-day-long Autumn Festival.
