Show cause notice to Kirip Chaliha

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) serves show cause notice to MP Kirip Chaliha alleging his conspiracy against Chief minister Tarun Gogoi.

According a report by a vernacular daily from Guwahati, signed by the party’s disciplinary panel convener Dr Haren Das, the notice asks Mr Chaliha to show cause is given ten days why action will not be taken against him. Mr Chaliha, however, was not available for his comment.

The decision to this effect was taken on October 12 while the panel met at the Rajiv Bhawan after taking up the allegations of conspiracy against the Chief Minister.

Also, a section of the party leaders urge party high command to take drastic action against the MP from Guwahati alleging that he was hatching conspiracy against Mr Gogoi by forcing Alaka Pandey to say against Mr Gogoi while she was denied party ticket for the lat Lok sabha polls from Gauripur.

Mrs Pandey later in a meeting in the national capital admitted Mr Chaliha’s role in saying something at the heat of the moment.

Mr Chaliha is not available for his comment. The MP from Guwahati will have to reply it before the AICC as the state’s panel for disciplinary action has no authority to receive it from a member of parliament.
