BPF president and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary have claimed that BPF will win Kokrjahar parliamentary seat for which the election was held on April 24.
Mohilary while addressing the reporters here on Thursday at Bodofa Bwgwr in Kokrajhar said it is confirmed that his party candidate and sitting Transport minister Chandan Brahma will win the seat in huge votes from Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.
‘There is no any candidate to defeat his party candidate Brahma in Kokrajhar as party is going to celebrate landslide victory on the day of counting of votes on May 16 next. He said party candidate will win over 5 lakhs of votes and will defeat nearest contestant by lakh of votes’, Mohilary said.
He said that party Mangaldoi candidate Sahadev Das will also get huge votes, but it is now not able to comment whether he will win or not as the Mangaldoi was contested in multi-cornered.
He has said that the alliance between BPF and Congress would continue and there is no misunderstanding among two parties. He has denied allegation of fraction of understanding between two parties by senior party leader Pramila Rani Brahma said that it was unfortunate statement. The parties have good alliance in the state and it will also be remained in same spirit in future too, he added.
Meanwhile, MLA Pramila Rani Brahma has apologized to the party for her statement today said that she was not given such kind of statement as media reports stated.
A countdown meeting of BPF party election steering committee headed by BTC executive member and chairman of steering committee was held at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. All Assembly segment and district committees of the party given reports of getting majority votes in the elections.
