Golden jubilee celebration begins at Nowgong Girls College


Golden Jubilee celebration of Nowgong Girls’ College is underway in Nagaon. The inaugural function was graced by Meghalaya Governor R.S. Mooshahary. Dr. Durlav Chamua, MLA Nagaon also attended the inaugural ceremony. The celebration committee welcomed the guests with Axomiya Phulam Gamusa. R.S. Mooshary lightened the inaugural lamp and said, “I am very much happy with the students’ of the College for their well discipline.” He also urged the students to pay more attention on their studies and to bring good name to the college. He also added that the participation of women in every field has been increased in compare to the past. The recent development in education and the rise of the literacy rates among the women is a good sign, he said.


On the other hand Dr. Chamua also congratulates the students and the teachers for the Golden Jubilee year. Chamua also spoke on the sacrifices of the teachers and the employees of the college and appreciated their contributions for making it a successful institution for Women.

The Keshai Khaity puja was held by the Lalung community of Nagaon district April 26.
