64th Independence Day observed at Barpeta

Along with the rest of the country in Assam at Barpeta district also the 64th Independence Day was observed with tight security with various programmes. The National Flag, on the occasion of this remarkable day was unfurled by the agriculture minister of Assam Nilmoni Sen Deka. Addressing on the occasion NIlmoni SEn Deka remembered the departed souls of the freedom fight who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation. In his address he explained in detail about the various schemes that was taken by the government . In this Independence Day eve the freedom fighters of the district and the sports persons and students of the districts who had brought laurels to the field of sports. On the other hand,the cultural programme which was performed by the artist on this occasion also very attractable one. ON this I- Day eve all the Barpetians were present. Barpeta town business Association and Barpetaq Road business Association distributed fruits and sweets at Fakharudddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital.The programme completed peacefully here at Barpeta.

The district Magistrate of Barpeta Phanidhar Kalita by an order has promulgated section 144 crpc in the entire Barpeta town, Barpeta Road town, Pathsala Town and Howly town banning on moving two persons on two wheeler vehicles. A literary-cultural organisation was formed at pub-Barpeta area recently with members from 20 villages of that area. One dead body was recovered at Manipuri Basti railway line at Barpeta Road railway station last night at about 12.30 pm. The deceased was identified as Billal Hussain, son of Mujjafar Ali of Manipuri basti railline. The family members claimed it as a pre-planned murder. The brother of the deceasedsaid that one Abu Bakkar Siddique threatened his brother on that day with some of his persons namely Rafiqul Islam (Raju), Aijul, Jalauddin and Mainul. The brother of Billal suspected Abu Bakkar behind this murder. Barpeta Road railkway station police rushed to the spot immediately and investigation is going on.
