Guwahati police have arrested a Maoist activist in the city on Saturday. Known as Prasanna Rabha, the youth was picked up from Udalbarka during a combing operation in the area four days after his sister was arrested. Police claimed him to be close associate of central committee member Aklanta Rabha who was arrested last month.

Maoist activists are spreading in the nook and corner of Guwahati. Jalukbari police on Thursday claimed to have intercepted a lady Maoist cadre in the city in the wee hours.
