Dead body of a missing person in Indo-Bangladesh border

On the evening of 23rd April, the mutilated body of Biju Das (35) was recovered by the police from the Brahmaputra River near Shilghaghra, which is the Indo-Bangaladesh border. He was a small grocery shop owner of R. K. Mission road of Dhubri and was missing since the evening of 18th May, 2011.

On that evening Bijou Das went to the local market of Dhubri to bring some medicine for his two years old daughter and found missing. Next day, i.e. on 19th May his family members lodged a missing complaint at the police outpost of College Nagar. But police failed to make any headway. An appeal was also made through Jana Sanjog Department of Dhubri, requesting people to give information regarding Biju Das. But all efforts failed.

But still it is not clear whether the incident is a case of suicide or murder. The body was taken for postmortem.
