Dima Haso scam likely to rock Parliament

CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue. The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

Normal business activities in Guwahati have come to a grinding halt as the traders on Saturday in protest against the move to the trade license fee by 300% by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation. Fierce gunfight erupted between security forces and militants at a polling station in Karbi Anglong district while two powerful IED were recovered in Assam's Autonomous District constituency where voting was held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections day. The Assam-Nagaland border areas in Sivasagar district slips into a simmering situation after Nazira police foiled the bid of group of officials from Longleng district administration to set up a polling booth in Geleky. The officials under the Tamlu legislative assembly constituency arrived in Borhola on Wednesday evening headed by Tamlu SDO who asked his Nazira counterpart to allow them to set up polling booth in the place. A major incident of blast was averted on Thursday when an improvised explosive devise was found near a polling station in Assam's Autonomous District (ST) Lok Sabha constituency. Accoridng official sources, a police patrolling party found the IED at Disobai, under Bokolia police station of Karbi Anglong district early this morning prior to commencement of polling at 7 am. Later police defused the bomb by disconnecting its wires, the sources said, adding, security was on high alert in the constituency comprising the twin hill districts of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills district.
