GUWAHATI: Despite repeated plea by vice president Phani Bhushan Chaudhory, Brindabon Goswami on Thursday named central committee members at his own choice which is why disappointment is simmering within the state’s biggest regional party.
Speaking to Assamt Times, senior leaders here say Mr Goswami has ignored the instructions at the recent summit where he was asked to name office bearers only after consultation with vice president.
“All those named by Mr Goswami are his henchmen and even he did not talk to Mr Chaudhory while he was dealing with the task,” they say.
The seven general secretaries of the committee: Birendra Prasad Baishya, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Hitendra Nath Goswami, Dilip Kumar Saikia, Atul Bora, Sarbananda Sonowal and Girindra Kumar Baruah.
Vice presidents: Thaneswar Boro, Nurul Hussain, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Hiranya Konwar, Dr Arun Kumar Sarma, Prabin Gogoi, Dr Alaka Desai Sarma, Dr Kamala Kalita and Jatin Mali. Two seats of vice president are vacant. Dr Arun Kumar Sarma, Dr Alaka Desai Sarma and Jatin Mali are newly included.
