Free medical camp by Army at Dihingmukh

As a part of 'Operation Sadbhabana' Army 2nd mountain arty Brigade, Dah Division organized a free Medical camp at Dihingmukh in Sivasagar district on sunday. The camp provided facilities of general health check-up, free medicines, health awarness regarding common diseases and motivated local youth to join defence forces. More than 1000 local people take the opportunity. C.O Col. D Jayachanda, Major Subramonium, Major S.K Sahu, Captain Dr. Prasant Patil, captain Dr.Sourav Agarwal was present at teh camp as resource person. The camp as innugurated by village headman Tikheswar Tao.

Sivasagar district encephalities vaccination (SA 14-14-2) campaign started on Sunday for first time in the Country. 15 to 65 years old people will be included in the campaign. The programme began on 9 am at Demow PHC. A total of 200 people took the vaccine. The campaign will continue till October 31 in first phase. Under demow PHC total 1.10 lacs people will be benefited by this programme.
Japanese Encephalitis has spread in Demow of Sivasagar district. 2 persons had dies so farin the last 21 days. They were identified as Lalita Panging (18) of Desangmukh and another Raghunath Shah (60) of Demow. Lalita was died in AMC, Dibrugarh on July 7 and Raghunath at Damanij Nursing home on July 19. Under Demow CHC area, at present 14 people have been suffering for the deadly disease and they were under treatment in AMC Dibrugarh and private hospital.
A road mishup occured at Moran Tiloi Nagar on NH 37 on Tursday night at aroud 12:30 midnight. 2 persons died on the spot. The incident occured when the driver of the high speeding truck (CG-04-JA0864) suddenly pressed the break, then the pipes hit the truck cabin killing driver Rajkishor Sah (25) and his assistant Saini Sah (30) on the spot. The truck was coming from Mumbai to Duliajan. Both the deseased were from Madhyapur of Bihar and they are from same family.
Dipok Gogoi of Demow, Sivasagar won the Mr. India title under 70 kg category at Villai of Chattisgarh Sunday. The competition was organised by Chattisgarh Pradesh Body Building Association under All India Body Building Fedaration. He was also Mr. Assam and North-East India in 2009.
A 10 kg weight tortoise recovered by Forest depertment workers at Demow with the help of Demow police from a household at Palengi under Sivasagar district June 1. Later the Tortoise was released safely into Demow river by forest dept official.

Noted scholar and SEBA ex-Secretery Bhuban Konwar passed away on April 30 at Guwahati. He was suffering from kidney trouble in the last few days. He was born at Demow Konwar Dehingia Goan, Sivasagar in 1947 in a farmer family. He was son of late Phanidhar Konwar and Harumai Konwar. He studied in Demow Dehijan L.P. School and Demow High school. After his matriculation in 1965 he joined DSHK college, Dibrugarh and later he completed M.Sc. in chemesty from Dibrugarh University. Then he joined in AMC Dibrugarh as Demonstrator and retiered as Secretery of SEBA in 2005. He has done many work for devlopment of science education in entire North East India.
