Would Chandra Mohan Patowary vacant AGP’s President Seat?

Would Chandra Mohan Patowary bow down in front of Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and Brindavan Goswami former two top brass of Asom Gana Parishad? As we have witnessed that Patowary has failed to revive his party though expectation remains large. He could not but bring some positive changes to it.In election politics he could not succeed. In the last Loka Sabha, under the leadership of Patowary AGP achieved nothing in the clear sense of the term.On the other hand its partner BJP has scored well in the then election. It is learnt that internal dissatisfaction especially from the grass root level workers has arisen over Patowary gradually since then.

He has to take all the responsibilities of failure of that election.Mentionable that Patowary took president ship of the party from his predecessor Brindavan Goswami through somewhat illegal means three years back. However,he could not prove himself as a successful leader. Now Patowary has decided to leave the top seat of the party, he said at Guwahati. He will announce this tomorrow at the decision making meeting of the party. In such a difficult situation, names of Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and Brindavan Goswami gain momentum once again inside the party. Influence of Mahanta and Gowami can not be denied on the party. But all the leaders as well as grass root level workers are not expressing willingness till now to take Mahanta or Goswami as their president. It needs mention that some of the party workers fear Mahanta’s past image will damage its image.Simalary, Goswami’s weakness will push the party to a derogatory state. But for Patowary as a leader of Assam Agitation, it will be considered as an utter failure if he shall have to vacant the seat notwithstanding his initiatives for revival of the party.
