Four-leged chick born in Sivasagar
In Sivasagar Banmukh, Dihingia Gaon, Digholisuk, a lady named Lila Chutia kept 20 eggs to brood up by her hen about a month ago. On Thursday, June 3, 15 chicks were born. On Friday evening Lila's niece Shravana Chutia saw a chick having four legs when she went to feed them after her school. People from long distances are gathering there to see the strange chick. People believing there that it is a sign of misfortune. The chick is alive well and behaving normally till now. It use his front two legs to walk and the back two legs are useless.

28 years old Munin Bora of Sipahigaon, Sivasagar drowned into the Dikhow River at about 3.30 pm. today. He was married since six months.
The incident occurred when policemen beat up few including the victim while gambling on the banks of River Dikhow. In the frenzy Munin dived into the river. While struggling to swim a lady tried to help him with a bamboo pole. Instead the policemen pushed Munin further into the river drowning him in the process. The infuriated locals beat up the policemen who ran away to avoid the fracas.

Sivasagar police recovered huge quantity of explosive on June 5 at Sivasagar Rupohimuk, in a gaze near the Brahmaputra river. Explosives recovered are RDX-3 kg, IED-12 nos, detonator-24 nos, fuse-12 nos and some wire. The explosives are suspected to be hidden by ULFA.

An unidentified dead body was found in Disang river near Akhoifutia Ghat, Sivasgar district on May 31 at around 10.30 am. The dead body is of a male person, approximately 35 years old. No cut or injury symbol found in the body.
Update: The dead body founded has been identified as Gobin Ozah of Seleng, Mahmora, Sivasagar district. He was a journalist of Pratidin. He was suffering from mental imbalancement. He went to his brothers home at Kakatibari, Sonari to take some money for his treatment on May 26 and disappeared from then. His dead body has been identified by his family at Sivasagar Civil Hospital. His death is suspected as suicide case.

5 armed Naga personnel entered in the ONGC rig at Gelakey in Sivasagar district on May 21 and asked the employees to remove the rig from there as they claimed the land belongs to Nagaland. They also sent a letter to the Managing Director, ONGC Assam Asset through the supervisor of the rig.
When the Boarder Magistrate of Nazira Rajib Thapa came to know about this incident, he visited in spot and sent a letter to Mokokchang DC detailing the incident. Both Sivasagar DC and Mokokchang DCs and ONGC Assam Asset Managing Director are suppose to discuss the matter on May 22.

60 kg. of ganja (marijuana) were caught from a one Prakash singh (45) of Bihar by some local youth at Ghilaguri petrol pump in Sivasagar from a night super (BR06D105) to bihar May 15 night. The ganja was brought in a suitcase and two airbags from Dimapur to Simaluguri junction by Intercity Express and then the tried to go to Bihar by Bus.
