2 school boys meet watery grave; 5 picked up

Two boys were feared to have dead when they fell from a boat on the river Brahmaputra on Sunday. According to information, the incident took place at Sunsali to have a picnic party of 7 Class IX students from Gurukul School in Guwahati. Five others have been picked up by police in Noonmati. Their guardians said they came out from their houses citing urgent piece of project works.


Both the students were identified as Saheer Ahmed and Sum Gayan. Immediately after the incident Noonmati police arrested 5 other students. According to allegation, they began the trip followed by a drinks session. Rescue operations are in progress. But the bodies have yet to be fished out. Meanwhile, the Gurukul School authorities have confirmed that these students have no school project.
