Photo of an unusual four-storied "Bhelleghar" constructed by villagers at Lathapara, near Naamkhola in Darrang district which had attracted large number of people for a few days till January 15.

Firstly I want to thanks the villagers of Lathapara and the young boy who created this Bhelaghar. I appreciate you that this is a nice work. I live in guwahati in concrit jungle but i am a lover of Meji. I create in this year Meji and Bhelaghar with my friends. In our locality there have no sufficient bamboo. I hope please you will create this type of Bhelaghar. Thanks

A big socio-economic awareness cycle rally was organised at Kalaigaon on March 1 (under Kalaigaon Revenue Circle,Udalguri Zilla part) as a part of the National Socio-Economic and Caste Census,2012. Barn owl rescued at Kalaigaon

Another barn owl has been rescued at Kalaigaon on February 25. According to information one Yasin Ali,inhabitant of No.2 Kalaigaon had found a stranded barn owl near his house at 2 PM and kept it inside his house to be sold in black market. Acting on a tip off, Habibur Rahman, OC, Kalaigaon PS along with Nakul Barua and Milan Sarma rescued the bird from the house. The bird was later handed over forest officials at Kalaigaon Police Station in presence of Brajen Bora,Cicrle Inspector of police and other media persons. HSLC invigilator expelled in Udalguri district

One Sishu Ram Bhuyan, science teacher of Chengapather Higher Secondary School, who had been booked for helping examinees on February 21 at Bholabari HSLC centre was finally expelled from HSLC duty for three years by Mehjubin Banu, Inspector of Schools ,Udalguri district on February 24. The incident has creaed sensation in the district.The Inspector of Schools, Udalguri told this correspondent the she had seen an examinee copying from books even in the presence of the said invigilator.The teacher has been debarred from HSLC examination duty for a period of three years. Injured python treated at Kalaigaon PS

An Indian python with serious head injury was rescued by a few nature loving villagers near Kalaigaon on February 19.The injured python ( 7feet 7 inches long,weighing 8 kg) was brought yo Kalaigaon Police Station for treatment before handing over to forest officials in the evening. According to information a group of minor boys had seen the reptile on a tree at Rupatol village at 2 PM.Mistaking it to be a monitor lizard,they attacked the python with catapults causing head injury.
