Photo of an unusual four-storied "Bhelleghar" constructed by villagers at Lathapara, near Naamkhola in Darrang district which had attracted large number of people for a few days till January 15.

Firstly I want to thanks the villagers of Lathapara and the young boy who created this Bhelaghar. I appreciate you that this is a nice work. I live in guwahati in concrit jungle but i am a lover of Meji. I create in this year Meji and Bhelaghar with my friends. In our locality there have no sufficient bamboo. I hope please you will create this type of Bhelaghar. Thanks

Tuskers retaliate firing in Khalingduar RF

More than hundred wild elephants attacked the Central Nursery of forest department at Switch Gate near Compartment No.4.inside Khalingduar Reserve Forest in Udalguri district last night causing extensive damage to the buildings and walls under construction. Interestingly,a few wild elephants had been roaming in the nursery the previous night on May 14.In order to chase them away forest personal resorted to firing causing minor injury to some of the herd.Being teased that way all the wild elephants numbering more than hundred attacked forest personal in retaliation forcing them to retreat to the range office.

Bike accident kills 2,injured 1 at Kalaigaon

In another tragic incident two youths namely-Indra Kumar Boro (20) son of Baneswar Boro and Amrit Boro (16) son of Khagen Chandra Boro of Teteliguri village under Kalaigaon police station died on spot on Saturday night at 1 AM at Bandhar Chowk near Kalaigaon. Another boy Jyanjyoti Boro (16) son of Gobinda Chandra Boro of the same village severely injured in the accident.
