The Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS), North Eastern Region in collaboration with Diocesan Board of Social Service (DBSS) Tezpur and Gana Chetna Samaj (GCS) Balipara, distributed Emergency Relief of food grains and medicines to victims of flood at Koilabari and Baithabanga on 18th August covering 489 worst affected families.
Relief materials consisting 35kg rice, 10kg dal, 1 kg Salt, 1 litre cooking oil, 1 mosquito net and water and sanitation kit were provided per household. The Emergency relief grant was made available by the German Agro Action (GAA) through the IGSSS. The district administration and the circle officer as well as the police outpost extended their co-operation in the relief distribution. Officials from the Circle Office visited the distribution sites. IGSSS with its professional experience in handling emergency situations made a smooth distribution which lasted less than 3 hours at Baithabanga to cover 434 households and less than one hour to cover 55 households in Koilabari.
