Civil administration of Nazira provides flood relief

Around 40,000 people of Nazira sub-division were effected by the recent flood of the Dikhow river. Civil administration of Nazira are providing rice, salt , dal, wheat, etc. to the flood effected people July 10.In this connection the SDO (civil) Nazira convayed a meeting of Govt. Officials of varius departments on last 12th july . Dr. Mubidur Rahman, sub-divisional Medical officer of Nazira said in a meeting that the malaria has effected 400 people of Nazira till July 12.

A handicraft and handloom fair is pulling huge crowd in Nazira where local products seem to have been received good response.People in large number have visited the week long fair at Nazira MC Club from May 5 organized by industry and commerce department.  The focus of attraction was the saler-buyer meet where both sides shared their views.  Talking to Assam Times assistant director of industry department Babul Hazirika said the response was encouraging.

ONGC Assam Asset fears major disruption in its functionings following the ongoing strike of the motor vehicle labour union. In a press release on Thursday, it said that it was ONGC is not directly involved with the demands raised by the Motor vehicle labour union. The Nazira unit of All Assam Minority Students’ Union took out a huge rally on Saturday in protest against Dr Subramaniam Swamy’s visit to the state.Hundreds of AAMSU activists hit the streets in Nazira shouting slogans against the BJP leader who allegedly has been trying to create communal clash in the state.  Talking to Assam Times the protesters said that they would allow Swamy to make any communal comments.
