SA Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs Little Champs, the largest talent hunt cum reality show for children is back in a new Avtar on Zee TV and is marching towards its peak in TRP. The program is aired every Friday and Saturday from 9:30 PM.


Out of over 60,000 contestants all over the country, 6 girls and 6 boys have been selected for the final rounds of this competition.



Antara Nandy is one of the final 6 girl finalist in this show and is representing Assam. Antara is 10 years of age and her home town is Guwahati (Noonmati). She was born at the Pragati Hospital, Sivasagar district of Assam. She started her education at “Budding Buds School” at Tinsukia district of Assam and stayed at Bordoloi Nagar.


Antara’s vocal quality and versatility has attracted all the great judges of the show like Alka Yagnik, Abhijeet, Kailash Kher, Dipika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Kavita Krishnamurty, Udit Narayan .


Antara has now qualified amongst the top 3 girls which is again a excellent achievement and now onwards it will be decided by public votes (SMS).


Antara’s potential for vocals was spotted at a very early age of 4 years by her school and immediately she started her training on vocals. At the age of 5 years she started her training under the guidance of Padmashree Ustaad Rashid Khan for advance levels


Antara is a student of Delhi Public School and is a bright student. DPS-Ruby Park has encouraged Antara throughout her journey. She also is a student of SIP – ABACUS.


Antara was launched as the youngest classical vocalist at the Prestigious Durbar Hall, Kolkata at the age of 8 years. Antara is also trained in classical’s under the guidance of renowned guru’s like Jayanta Sarkar and Samiran Jana and she obtained tips on modern songs from Simanta Sarkar (Jojo).


She has performed in various shows and is a sought after child artist amongst various section of music connoisseurs in the eastern part of the country. Her biggest shows were at Netaji Indoor stadium, Kolkata in 2008 and in Patna Stadium in 2009.


Antara decided to try her luck in the talent hunt organized by Star TV as well as ZEE TV this year and she got selected for both the programs, finally Antara opted to be go for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs 2009


Little Antara has already shown that she is not only a good singer but also has a good heart thru her act of friendship with the Marathi girl Ananya who did not have any friendz due to a critical skin problem (shedding of skin like a snake every day). This was also shown on the TV and was also a news in many leading national dailies. Antara’s parents also promised to support Ananya in her struggle.

I hope parents make their children realize that music is for the soul and not for competition. These glitzy 'talent hunt' are as fierce as the word 'hunt'. Children think music is meant for competition and competition only. Sad but True...

BREAKING NEWS : Assam Minister Ingti survives bomb attack at residence

Guwahati : Assam Minister Khar Singh Ingti narrowly escaped an attack when miscreants hurled a bomb at his Howraghat residence at about 10.15 am. The bomb suspected to be a grenade missed the residence and exploded against the boundary wall. No casualities have been reported.The miscreants managed to flee in their motorcycle. Leopard killed by Villagers in Guwahati

Guwahati : A big cat was killed by the villagers after it had attacked and severely injured two persons at Garobasti in Segunbari hills in the wee hours, under Fatashil Ambari Police Station area in Guwahati. Eight people arrested with Rhino horn

Bongaigaon : A pistol with one live bullet and a Rhino horn were seized by Bongaigaon police from a group of eight miscreants during a routine road checking on 27-08-07 at Bongaigaon, around 200 kms away from Guwahati. There is a good market for the horns of Rhinos--sold to make medicines, aphrodisiacs, or the decorative handles of daggers. Rhino horn can be sold throughout Asia and the Middle East, for up to $37,000 (Rs. 1.5 million) per kilo, which encourages poachers. This year poachers have killed at least 12 one-horned rhinos at the sanctuary and it was the first time in a decade that the number of rhinos killed in a year had hit double figures, officials said.

Address the urban poor: Dr Singh tells CM

Guwahati : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has adised the Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to prepare a time-bound action plan for providing all basic services for the urban poor in major cities in the state.Official sources here say in a letter, the Prime Minister has sought Mr Gogoi’s personal attention to promote the concept of inclusive cities in which every citizen has reasonable and affordable access to basic amenities. Khagen Mahanta admitted to Down Town Hospital

Guwahati: Assam’s veteran artist Khagen Mahanta has been ailing in the city based Down Town Hospital. According to information, the musician was admitted to the hospital two days back. Ulfa killed by Ulfa in Jorhat

Jorhat : Police on Saturday recovered an unidentified bullet ridden dead body from Taraigaon under Borhola police station bordering Nagaland in Jorhat district. According to police, prima facie of the incident hints it to be a fratricide by ULFA. Locals residing area informed police that a group of five-six armed youth suspected to be ULFA members in civil fatigue came from Myanmar on foot and attacked a comrade on Friday late night who was on a motorcycle coming from the opposite side near Borhola Nagabat. New Assam Olympic Association body formed

Guwahati: The much-awaited annual general meeting of the Assam Olympic Association was held today which retained Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi as the President of the organization. However, the posts of the secretary and treasurer saw two new faces this time. Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain replaced outgoing secretary Mukut Medhi while Raj Kakoti, assistant secretary of the former committee, has taken over the post of treasurer.The annual general meeting of the AOA, held at the Sarusajai Sports complex today, was presided over by President Tarun Gogoi.
