Continuous load-shedding hits Barpeta

Normal life in entire Barpeta district paralyzed due to irregular load-shedding by the Electricity Board. Out of twenty four hours electricity is available only three to four hours a day. As the half-yearly examinations have started from today the continuous load-shedding has seriously affected the academic environment of the entire district.

Works in several offices particularly those using computers without generators have been badly affected indicating large scale backlogs during days to come. Computers and inverters at home have become only an ornamental goods as these have been lying idle for months together. Even the telephone exchanges are hit for days together.

The pathetic condition for the people of the district is that the responsible officers of the ASEB do not have a satisfactory answer to the situation and often avoid public contact. At a time when the lives of modern society depends on electricity, the retrograde action of the ASEB authority is going to throw it out of gear. People here urged the present the Tarun Gogoi led congress govt. to solve this burning problem as per as possible.
