The most interesting Youth Festival under Gauhati University (GU) began on 16th May with various programmes. Colleges affiliated to Gauhati University from different part of the Asom have participated in the youth festival. So fare more than 40 colleges have registered for the festival and the organising committee is still waiting for more participation from the colleges based at different parts of Guwahati.
Inaugurating the youth festival Okhil Kr Medhi, the Vice Chancellor of the University said that youth festival is one of the important events of the university. Speaking on the occasion Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya, the Advisor of All Assam Students Union (AASU) appealed the students to love the place and work for it and take part in the progress of the society Adding in the same spirit Sankar Prasad Rai , president of AASU also appealed the students to take active part in the society and work to solve the social problems faced by the state. Pramod Boro, the president of all Bodo Students Union said that there is less scope and options for students in the state so the future generation must take leadership to change the society for bringing development. Many eminent teachers and students leaders were felicitated on the occasion by the Post Graduation Students Union of GU.
Lakshan Upadhaya , General Secretary of PGSU also spoke on the occasion and welcomed all the participants to the youth festival. The festival would conclude on 20th May.
