DHD(J) threatens to blow up rail bridges in NC hills

Hours after the attack on the Barak Valley Express at Wadrengdisa on Friday, the DHD(J) rebels have threatened to blow up the railway bridges in the N C Hills district.

A CRPF constable died 15 others injured when the rebels attacked a passenger train on Friday. Sources said, the incident took place at around 2.45 in the afternoon when a gang of armed rebels started indiscriminate firing at the Barak Valley Express as the passenger train was slowing down at Wadrandisa railway station to allow some passengers to disembark. The CRPF jawan A K Tiwary died on the spot. Some of the injured persons have been identified as Hubir Ahmd, Bhagwan mahato, Abdul Rahim, Abdul Hukur and his wife Meherun Begum, M Das, Zakaria Ahmed, Amrjit Singha, Ramthang Haflongbar, Raibanon Langthasa, Imdadur Rahman and Dhanesh Borgohain. The condition of two injured persons is said to be critical. These injured people have been shifted to Maibong rural hospital.

Meanwhile, deputy commandant of the Dimasa rebel outfit Danial Dimasa has claimed responsibility and has threatened to blow up railway bridges in the district.
