Kaziranga National Park is agog with festivity as the 7th elephant festival begins on Monday.
The four day long event will be formally inaugurated by forest and tourism minister Rockybul Hussain on Tuesday at a glittering function inside the park.
The Kaziranga Marathon will mark the beginning of the festival and this would be followed by the opening of a fair by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Chandan Brahma.
The focus of attention on Tuesday will be a cultural procession. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is scheduled to attend the jumbo festival. Several experts will deliberate on the man-elephant festival in a series of seminars and group discussions.
