Abductors on Thursday freed Joy Narayan Bansal, a businessman from Tinsukia district in Assam was abducted by four persons from Doom Dooma area of the district on June 17 and taken to Arunachal Pradesh. A joint police team of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam rescued Bansal from Chongkhan area of Lohit district.
Five persons died including two minor boys and atleast 35 others have been injured when policemen fired upon a group of protesters in Dispur on Wednesday. A protest rally lead by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) turned violent while attempted to enter Assam Secreteriat breaking police barricades Wednesday.
