3rd Desang festival from February

The 3rd Desang festival starts from February 6 for 3(three) days with many colorful events. The festival is organised by the people of Desangmukh along with the district administration. The festival is held on the beautiful white riverine beach of the river Desang. During the festival various contests like boat race, kite flying, bike rally,traditional games etc. are held at the beach.An exhibition by local Self Help Group is organised where the artists demostrate various traditional products. The Assamese and traditional dishes of Desangmukh are also made available and a food festival is also organised. All along with these traditional cultural programmes were also organised.

The centre is also known as Sivasagar Civil Hospital (Wood Dispensry) earlier and this hospital is shifted to Joysagar a few years back. But today this is inagurated for the greater interest of the people of Sivasagar town as town health centre. The inaguration ceremony is attended by Deputy Commissioner, officials of health department and a large number of people of Sivasagar town.
