At least five persons died and more than 30 others have been injured when three blast rocked Guwahati before the arrival of Union home minister P Chidambaram on Thursday evening.
The first one took place at around 3-30 in the afternoon at Birubari area here three persons have been injured. The bomb as kept inside a GMC dustbin.
This was followed but the blast at Bhotnath where three persons and ten others have been injured. It as planted on a bi-cycle which exploded at around 5-30 in the evening.
Minutes after it, another bomb rocked Bhanagarh area where three dead and 30 injured. The bomb exploded under the flyover.

The Government of Assam cannot provide security to the citizens of the State. However, it has ensured 108 ambulances to carry us when 'blasted'....

The people of Assam fill totaly unsecuired in the condition of the serial bomb blast. To stop these type of rock, goverment as well as common people should aware. Goverment should control by any means extrimist and the illegal foreiners problems.

Well said.And we didnt have ambulance service from the government till now! The Mritunjay service, has been introduced late dec 2008!Wow! Such progress!

we keep on giving solution from our end in different forums and discussion in various forums and never try to implement those things and just try to blame others and just speak, speak and speak about it. <NO ACTION, & NO REACTION>

Namrup : The AASU, Advisor Mr. Samujjal Bhattacharya has said that the Tarun Gogoi led Government seems to be suffering from a laid back approach as it has come to power again. Kuwait : As the two-month amnesty for illegal immigrants residing in Kuwait ends on June 30, the Indian embassy in the Gulf country has already issued nearly 7,000 emergency certificates to benefit from the scheme. So far the embassy has issued 7,000 emergency certificates to take advantage of the amnesty, Mr PM Thomas, first secretary at the Indian embassy in Kuwait said.
The government has issued formal orders appointing Mr R S Sharma as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), India’s biggest oil producer. Sharma was already acting as the interim CMD of ONGC since May 25 last year. Sharma would be heading the company till January 31, 2011, official sources said.

A group of Naga people suspected to be sympathisers and supporters of of NSCN (I-M) attacked villagers on the Assam side in Sonapur, Borholla and Dhekiajuli on Assam-Nagaland border under Geleky sector in Sivasagar District around 3.15 in the morning.
