Blast in train at Diphu: 3 dead, 50 injured

Three persons died and over 50 have been injured when a powerful bomb exploded at a passenger train in Diphu Railway station early in the morning on Tuesday.

According to information, the blast took place at the 901 Lumding-Tinsukia UP train. The time device bomb was planted inside the Coach No 8209. One person died on the spot and the injured have been shifted to the Diphu civil hospital. Immediately after the incident, police arrived on the spot. Investigation is on. The blast is suspected to be a handiwork of KLNLF.

The Karbi militant outfit has called an indefinite economic blockade which began this morning demanding steps to address their 10 point charter of demands. Details are awaited.
