Cancer Hospital Kokrajhar inaugurated

The Kokrajhar Cancer Hospital, located in Beswargaon, has been dedicated to rendering services for the common masses in Bodoland Territorial Region districts on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremonially inaugurated the newly constructed Cancer Hospital via a virtual meeting from Dibrugarh in the presence of union cabinet minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Tata trust chairman, Ratan Tata and Governor of Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi. Chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present at the function.

Kokrajhar, BTR CEM Pramod Boro, deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Jiron Basumatary, Jayanta Basumatary and BTC executive member Arup Kumar Dey are attending a cancer hospital. A total of 43 beds are available to render services in the region. The hospital emphasizes on offering world class treatment with facilities.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro hopes the cancer hospital is extending treatment services for cancer diseases among citizens in the region. He said that cancer patients from this region are getting benefits while getting medical treatment. He said that BTR and state governments have been working together nonexclusively towards the welfare and uplift of the state since its inception. He thanked Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Dr Sarma and Ratan Tata for establishing a cancer hospital in Kokrajhar, heart town of Bodoland Territorial Region.

Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh.
