More ULFA top guns are set to follow Ram Singh who was arrested in a high voltage drama. This time these will include hardcore militant Sujit Mohan who has been unleashing a reign of terror in upper Assam and thus gives sleepless night to army and police.
It is as if Ram Singh has opened the gate for several others to join the pro-truce group. Sujit , who hails from a poor family in Patsaku area under Bokota Mouza in Sivasagar district has been a headache for police, army and para military forces for the last couple of years.
Sujit has his hardcore colleague Ram Singh alias Mintu Buragohain, whom police recently claimed to have arrested from Jabalating in Bokota area.
The duo had one more dreaded cadre Ankur Shyam, who have been unleashing a reign of terror in upper Assam by serving extortion notices which were duly signed by Sujit. Amy had to resorted to postering campaign in the area announcing Rs 3 lakh reward for those reliable clue to net them.
But it was a a staggering blow for the B company of the outfit’s crack unit when army killed four cadres at Balijan grant in Charaideo.
They are namely bomb expert Aditya Naidu, Nitul Rajkonwar, Sergeant Dhruba Lahon, Sergeant major Anirban Basu, Sergeant major Rajiv Saikia,. Sujit, Ram Singh et al were among those who were in touch with the authorities to announce unilateral ceasefire. But later they came out from the procedure.
The A and C companies did it. Some of them including Ankur Shyam had gone with the Mrinal Hazarika camp. This has helped army weaken the strength of ULFA. Ram Singh is to be believed, it remains clear that Sujit will follow the suit. If it so happens, the B company of the ULFA crack unit will remain only in the name.

Dozens of people sustained injury when a passenger train jumped off the tracks in Jagiroad on Wednesday. Security forces seized a huge cache of plastic explosives from three youths who were on their way to target a power station in Dhemaji district on Saturday.According to police, the three youths, sped away on their motorcycles, when signalled to stop during a routine check near the Panbari border outpost under Gerukamukh police station.They were caught and arrested following a chase after three packets of plastic explosives, five packets of fuse wire, six fuses and daggers were found in their possession.Identified as Pranendra Wari, Nakesh Narzari and Hemkanta Narzari, they were targeting the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation at the Gerukamukh dam site.

Over 50 people have been injured when an ATSC bus overturned in the outskirt if Guwahati on Friday. The accident took place when the Assam State Transport Corporation owned bus on its way to Guwahati from Barpeta, was trying to overtake a truck when it overturned and rolled down the road to a nearby field in Nayanpur area.The condition of five injured was stated to be critical.
