Makeup competition Lumiere 2021

With the resumption of normal life and special events firmly back on the calendar, Sunshine Academy of Makeup and Styling, a leading make-up training school of the Northeast region, is organizing the fourth edition of its annual makeup competition – Lumiere 2021, in association with Illumis Aesthetic Clinic, on December 18, 2021. Since its introduction in 2017, the unique talent showcase and makeup competition has been a wonderful launch pad for all those who have a flair for makeup. The contest has changed the perception about make-up artists. The winners of the event have also gone on to land lucrative deals with fashion photographers and producers of serials and films. Like the years before, this time around too, a number of makeup professionals and amateurs alike from across the region are expected to participate and hone their craft in the contest, which will be held at the Aurus Lifestyle Mall in Dispur.

It has always been the overriding purpose of Sunshine Academy to bring focus to the skill-based profession. The academy has successfully managed to inculcate the skill of makeup among youths from the Northeast and helped them adapt it as a lucrative profession. The competition aims to bring talented make-up professionals to the fore and help establish them in the competitive industry that offers its services in diverse fields like television, drama, films, weddings and modelling.

The contestants will have to showcase their artistry through the skilful use and application of makeup in the competition that will be held in two categories – bridal makeup and creative makeup.

Lumiere 2021 will be judged by renowned makeup artist Panku Hazarika, Papori Dutta, proprietor of Darpan Beauty Salon and Deepsikha Borah, Regional Manager of Brand Avon of Northeast. The first three winners will take home Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, along with gifts, certificates and trophies. Certificates of participation will also be presented to all the participants. Candidates are required to pay the registration fee of Rs. 3000/- for getting entry into the competition, which is open till November 30, 2021.
